Our Practice

Retina of Illinois, S.C. specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of vitreo-retinal disorders, such as:

  • Macular Degeneration
  • Diabetic Retinopathy
  • Retinal Tears and Detachments
  • Macular Holes and Epi-Retinal Membranes

The retina is a neural layer in the inner back part of your eye, which captures light and transmits visual information through the optic nerve to your brain. The macula is the center part of the retina, responsible for central vision, which includes fine visual acuity and color vision. The vitreous gel occupies the central part of the eye, between the lens and the retina.

We use the latest equipment to perform a detailed clinical retinal examination, and use retinal photography, digital fluorescein angiography, ocular coherence tomography (OCT), and ocular ultrasound as needed to accurately diagnose your retinal condition.

Office treatments include retinal laser, intravitreal injections (Avastin, Lucentis and steroids) and pneumatic retinopexy. If surgery is needed, it will be performed at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL.
